Heiner Meyer's exhibition “FASHIONISTA” impressively demonstrates how fashion is more than just clothing—it becomes a mirror of identity, change, and aesthetic expression. Meyer, who completed his academic training at the Braunschweig University of Art and now lives and works in Bielefeld, sets out in this series to explore the connection between figurative painting and (post-)pop art.
In his works, he questions classical forms of representation – and thus opens up a view of fashion as a cultural phenomenon: How does style become language, attitude, expression of self? “FASHIONISTA” invites us to explore these questions.
