Paper Work encompasses all works on paper. It includes mixed media on handmade paper, drawings, and watercolors, as well as editions in the form of prints and screen prints. The medium of paper forms an independent area of work in Heiner Meyer's oeuvre.
In his current works in mixed media on handmade paper, Meyer combines comic elements with well-known brands and products. Recognizable imagery meets a reduced, precise representation that works with irony without going overboard. The visual language is clear and narrative at the same time — an approach that runs consistently through the paper works.
The editions are created on different bases. These include prints based on original oil-on-canvas works, as well as independent editions on classic pop art themes that focus on the product – such as bottle caps or oil cans.
In addition, there are comic works based on original works on paper and produced using screen printing.
