Internationally renowned artist Heiner Meyer (born 1953) employs pop art strategies and combines visual material from a wide variety of contexts. In his paintings, comic book characters, compositions by Picasso or Hockney, and advertisements for modern luxury brands are condensed into a new pictorial whole whose diverse reflections update the critical potential of pop art in the light of contemporary consumer culture.
