INFORMATION ABOUT THE EXHIBITION OPENING: HEINER MEYER – ART IN THE CABINET: SEBASTIAN SPECKMANN
With this joint exhibition featuring Heiner Meyer and Sebastian Speckmann, the gallery presents two artists whose works stem from different artistic traditions yet engage in an intense dialogue. Meyer’s photorealistic Pop Art painting and Speckmann’s highly complex printmaking mark two poles of contemporary image production: maximum visibility and radical reduction, abundance and concentration, surface and depth. It is precisely in this juxtaposition that a tension unfolds, sharpening the gaze and recalibrating perception.
The exhibition space thus becomes a field of shifting intensities. Meyer’s paintings dominate through presence, color, and iconic clarity, while Speckmann’s works demand proximity and reveal themselves fully only through quiet contemplation. Both positions are united by uncompromising technical mastery and a keen awareness of the power of images. Together, they paint a multifaceted picture of our present, in which consumption, memory, melancholy, and aesthetic seduction coexist.
